Upon completion of the initial setup, daily backups are performed automatically, processing full incremental daily backups in a fraction of the normal time. This is achieved by only backing up physical block level changes this ensures that the backup process is quick and only small amounts of changed data is transferred to our data centre facilities therefore keeping costs to a minimum.
Bare Metal Restoration
When disaster strikes a companies business continuity or DR plan is activated and it is critical to the survival of the business that the IT systems are restored in the quickest time possible. Whilst the data may be safe and retained in SDT’s secure data centres considerable time is required to acquire new hardware and build the operating systems and applications before the data can be restored. Our optional Bare Metal Recovery service not only backups the data but the operating systems, applications and system state. So when a disaster occurs, our engineers can provide your server environment on external drives ready to be quickly restored to new hardware. If required we can procure the hardware and provide a restoration service as well.
Continuous Data Protection
SDT Offsite Backup Manager comes with advanced Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technology which can be set to capture every version of the data of a file that has been saved to your hard drive. With CDP, even if your hard drive crashes completely after you have worked for a full day without invoking backup manually yourself, the saved copy of your working files will still be intact on the backup server. It provides a highly dependable means of real-time, continuous data protection for file servers, desktops, and laptops effortlessly and transparently, without any human intervention.
256-Bit AES Encryption
SDT OnLine Backup manager secures all your data in encrypted format & sends through a SSL channel. All data will be compressed and encrypted with 256-bit encryption with an encrypting key selected by the user on the client-side before being uploaded and stored on SDT Offsite Backup Server . The encrypting key will never be uploaded to the backup server during backup. Moreover, uploading of backup data can be done by secure SSL channel to further increase the security. Decryption, on the other hand, is only possible with user's encrypting key. This whole mechanism provides exceptional security to the backed up data.
